Report Title:                     Amendment to Consulting Services Agreement with The KPA Group

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Airports, or designee, to execute Amendment 3 to the Consulting Services Agreement between the County and The KPA Group dated March 12, 2019, for the Buchanan Field terminal project, to increase the payment limit by $66,040, from $1,258,600 to $1,324,640.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The increase in the contract amount will be paid by the Airport Enterprise Fund.

BACKGROUND:

The KPA Group (KPA) was hired in 2019 to perform architectural and engineering construction administration support services for the Buchanan Field Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF)/Administration/Terminal Building. Because the project completion date has been extended, KPA is needed to continue their technical support until the project is finished. While construction of the building should be complete by late December 2023, KPA is needed for the project close-out phase, expected to last through the end of February 2024. The cost of the additional services necessitates an increase in the contract limit by $66,040, from $1,258,600 to $1,324,640

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the increase in the payment limit is not approved, the KPA Group will not be able to perform the ongoing construction administration services needed to successfully complete the project.
