New revenues of $388,911 funded from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is requested to offset the expenditures.

BACKGROUND:

On December 19, 2023, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Board of Directors authorized the Fire Chief, or designee, to accept grant funding for the creation of a shaded fuel break.

The Fire District has expended funds to support both projects and has requested and received reimbursement from CAL FIRE. This budget amendment recognizes the grant revenue and appropriates it in the Fire District’s general operating fund.
