RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #74-696 with Community Initiatives, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $249,740, to implement the Familia after-school program for high school students in Contra Costa County, for the period January 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in budgeted expenditures of up to $249,740 for this 18-month contract and will be funded 100% by Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).

BACKGROUND:
This contract meets the social needs of county's population by implementing the MHSA Innovation Program for Community Defined Practices to support community defined practices throughout the county and target ethnic and cultural groups that may not otherwise engage in services, including but not limited to: non-English speakers, recent immigrants and others who have been impacted by institutional racism, xenophobia and trauma. These services are non-stigmatizing and are culturally and linguistically relevant to the community. This contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000. This contract was approved by Health Services Personnel to ensure there is no conflict with labor relations. The Behavioral Health's Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the contract are upheld.

This provider was selected in collaboration with community stakeholder advisory bodies and was approved as part of the comprehensive Mental Health Services Act Three-Year Plan as required by State regulation. Providers interested in providing specializ...
