Report Title:                     DECLARE vacant the District I seat on the Assessment Appeals Board

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

ACCEPT the resignation of Floy Andrews, DECLARE a vacancy in the District I seat on the Assessment Appeals Board for a term ending on September 1, 2024, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

The Assessment Appeals Board is established to assess and equalize the valuation of the taxable property in the County for the purpose of taxation; and to perform all duties required by the State Board of Equalization and State law.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The seat would not be declared vacant and a new recruitment/appointment would not be made, resulting in potential quorum issues.
