RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Ordinance 2025-08 amending Section 33-5.313 of the County Ordinance Code to exempt from the merit system the new classification of Health Services Chief Financial Officer-Exempt. (No fiscal impact)

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact for this action. If a position in this classification is added in a future action, all costs associated with salary and benefits will be funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Department's requests to establish this new classification as part of the recent re-organization of the Health Service Department’s Finance Division. This classification will be a single position class responsible for the financial operations of all divisions within the Health Services Department. County Counsel has amended the Ordinance as required for exempting positions, pending Board approval.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If not approved, the department will not have the appropriate classification to provide oversight for financial operations.
