RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Tice Valley Boulevard between Castle Glen Road and Crest Avenue, on September 1, 2025, through February 27, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of installing a water main, Walnut Creek area. (District II)
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
East Bay Municipal Utility District has requested to fully close a portion Tice Valley Boulevard to through traffic for the purpose of installing approximately 3,135 feet of 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch water main, service transfers, hydrants and connections. The closure will be during working hours only and the applicant will always allow local and emergency traffic through the site. Any open excavations will be covered with traffic rated steel plates during non-working hours and the road reopened to through traffic. The applicant shall follow the guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Applicant will be unable to close the road to complete their Water Main Replacement Project.
