Honoring June McHuen Upon Her Retirement
March 13, 2026
WHEREAS, June McHuen began her distinguished career with the County on March 2, 1998, as a Secretary - Journey Level in the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office, bringing dedication, professionalism, and a strong work ethic from day one; and
WHEREAS, on April 1, 2000, June was promoted to Secretary - Advanced Level, a role in which she excelled and continued to elevate the operational standards of the Clerk of the Board's Office; and
WHEREAS, throughout her remarkable 28 years of service, June devoted her entire County career to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, becoming a cornerstone of the office and a trusted institutional expert; and
WHEREAS, June has served numerous members of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors, supporting at least twenty-five Supervisors across several distinct County administrations, ensuring continuity, stability, and excellence through leadership transitions and evolving County priorities; and
WHEREAS, June is widely recognized as a master researcher, possessing unparalleled knowledge of Board history, policies, procedures, and records; and
WHEREAS, her deep understanding of all aspects of the Clerk of the Board's operations, combined with her professionalism, discretion, and unwavering commitment to public service, has strengthened the integrity and effectiveness of the democratic process in Contra Costa County; and
