Report Title:                     Contract with California Department of Food and Agriculture for Organic Program Inspections

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or designee, to execute a contract with the California Department of Food and Agriculture in an amount not to exceed $3,575 to reimburse the County for inspections to ensure compliance with the California Organic Program for the period of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

This agreement reimburses the Department of Agriculture in an amount not to exceed $3,575. There is no County match of funds or cost share requirements. This revenue is budgeted in the FY 2023-24 budget. 100% State funds.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

This agreement will reimburse the Department for conducting inspections to verify compliance with the California Department of Food and Agriculture requirements for the Organic Program.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

Failure to accept this agreement will cause a loss of revenue to the Department to enforce a mandated regulation.
