Report Title: Purchase order with AgileBits Inc. (dba 1Password) for the renewal of 1Password Business through July 6, 2027

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the County Librarian, a purchase order including modified limitation of liability and indemnification with AgileBits Inc. (dba 1Password) in an amount not to exceed $5,394 for the renewal of 1Password Business, for the period July 7, 2024, through July 6, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Library Fund.
BACKGROUND:
1Password is a password manager that creates and securely stores all passwords for seamless login to online accounts across all devices. 1Passwork can safely store sensitive documents, passwords, notes and SSH (Secure Shell) keys. It’s easy to share those items and collaborate securely. If the Library loses access to 1Password, the IT department will not have to secure platforms to save and share information and passwords for critical services.
The terms and conditions include limitation of liability and indemnification provisions, approved by County Counsel.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Purchase Order is not approved, the Contra Costa County Library will not be able to safely store sensitive documents, passwords, notes and SSH keys.
