RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Aztec Consultants, effective August 31, 2024, to extend the term through August 31, 2025, with no change to the payment limit, for on-call general construction services at various County sites and facilities, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Facilities Maintenance Budget. (No fiscal impact)
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department, Facilities Services is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all County sites and facilities. The County regularly receives requests for services that vary in size, scope, and equipment needed to fulfill these requests. Aztec Consultants can provide maintenance, repairs, and general construction services.
Government Code Section 25358 authorizes the County to contract for maintenance and upkeep of County facilities. Originally bid on BidSync #2003-396, Aztec Consultants was one of three lowest, responsive, and responsible vendors awarded for this work. The Board approved a contract with Aztec Consultants for the term September 8, 2020, through August 31, 2023, in the amount of $3,000,000.
Amendment No. 1, effective October 19, 2021, increased the payment limit to $6,000,000. Amendment No. 2, effective February 7, 2023, extended the contract term through August 31, 2024. Facilities Services is requesting Amendment No. 3 with Aztec Consultants to be approved, extending the term from August 31, 2024, to August 31, 2025, for on-call general construction services.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
