2:00 Legislative Update Information Hearing SB239/SB707/Sen Judiciary Committee hearing:
SB 239, it passed Judiciary Committee. It is now 50% through the process. Next it will go to the
Floor of the Senate and then to the Assembly. There is no cost to the bill so it doesn't have to go
to Appropriation Committee.

Navigating the process of funding for technology related projects. The process of applying for a
grant takes resources. How can we better prepared to respond in a timely fashion?

By next month’s meeting, EHSD Communications Department will present a mock up of the
Planning Committee section as a sample of potential changes to the website. As the mock ups
are reviewed, Steve encouraged members to comment.

Steve suggests focusing the AI handout with the ACOA as the targeted audience first
3:10 Public Health Legislative Proposal/Older Adult Ed/Permission Structure:
Steve discussed a California Senior Legislature (CSL) proposal for Older Adult Education
programs including technology offered through Public Health. These programs are not
enrichment, but essential. Steve is going to send copies of the proposal to the Committee.
3:25 The next meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2025 at 1:30-3:30 pm.
Steve hopes to have Ryan Yamamoto from Older Adults Technology Services at the June
meeting.
Effective next meeting, Steve has added Lori Magistrado as a Member and upgraded Denise
Kalm to a "Member".
