Claire Alaura, Office of Supervisor Burgis, reported a public comment was left off the minutes for the  
October 28, 2025 meeting:  
Kris Pereira - Shared the activity surrounding the YAI House on Camino Diablo Road and how it was  
negatively impacting the neighbors and street.  
Chet - Was thankful for the cleanup at the house near the bar, stating the bushes had been cleared.

Mitigation and Grants, provided an update on the District's activities.

Office of Supervisor Diane Burgis - Claire Alaura, Senior District Representative, provided an update  
and with the assistance of the Byron MAC board, presented certificates of recognition to Rob Scheidel  
(Byron Fabrication Shop), Mike Nissen (Evans Brothers, Inc.), and Capt. Charlene Jacquez for their help  
with the Byron Community Clean-up Day. A special resolution was also presented to Capt. Jacquez for  
her promotion and contribution to the safety of the unincorporated areas of District 3.

RECEIVE update from Contra Costa County Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement Officers, Larry Tolson and Christopher Wilson, provided an update and answered  
questions on code enforcement activity in Byron.

Councilmember Comments  
Councilmember Schmidt announced a current Giving Wreath program, the food pantry was collecting  
non-perishable food items at the St. Vincent de Paul bins located in the Community Center, and a future  
paper shredding event in April.  
Councilmember Wherity shared information on the East Contra Costa Historical Society's Christmas on  
the Farm event scheduled for December 7th, and the Byron Holiday and Caboose Lighting was  
scheduled for December 11th from 5-7 pm.  
Councilmember Nissen thanked those in attendance for coming to and participating in the Byron MAC  
meetings.  
Councilmember Lopez mentioned this past year had a lot of issues and thanked County staff for their  
work.

Future Agenda Items  
A request was made for a presentation from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District on the fire  
severity zones or Zone Zero at a future meeting.

The next meeting is currently scheduled for January 27, 2026.
