Director Murray made a presentation on the Local Master Plan for Aging.

Funding this year may be challenging. ACOA members should advocate/educate for our  
seniors/adults with disabilities.

Tom Lang presented on osteoporosis and osteopenia.  
Housing: Kevin Donovan  
At the January meeting, Joseph Villarreal, Executive Director, Contra Costa Housing Authority  
provided a presentation covering a number of affordable housing types the Housing Authority is  
involved with and the need for additional funding to address the housing shortage.  
No Place to Call Home has been presented to 9 groups. The Committee's goal is to present this  
presentation throughout the County.  
Our February meeting will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 10 am to noon. The  
focus of this meeting will be to discuss 2025 areas of interest relative to both discussion topics  
and potential presenters.  
Legislative: Shirley Krohn  
California Senior Legislature is working on senior issues.  
Technology: Steve Lipson  
The Committee discussed AI software.  
Transportation: Jim for Candace Evans  
Seamless Bay Area, who advocate for Bay Area wide transportation system, will make a  
presentation at the next meeting.

City Report Martinez: Kathryn Monroy-Dexter  
Martinez Senior Center offers fitness, creative arts, senior nutrition, events, community  
partnership.  
Health Equity Summit Update: Lorna Van Ackeren  
Lorna attended the Scan Foundation Health Equity in September.  
11:30 Regional Coalition Update: Debbie Toth  
The Regional Coalitions are focused on implementing Master Plan for Aging and incorporating  
the voice of lived experience.  
They are also working to design a program for new legislative staff on Aging and Disability  
issues.

Proactive Planning for Aging in Pleasant Hill, Thurs, February 20, 2025 from 1:30pm -3pm.  
Richmond Commission on Aging developing a transportation workshop (details to come)  
Mobility Matters - fundraiser on Feb 1, 2025, Campbell Theater in Martinez.  
Jim's goals for the ACOA over the next couple of years:  
Educational Workshops for the public.  
Website updated to include info about work of the committees.  
All ACOA seats filled.  
ACOA proud of what we accomplished.

Persons who wish to address the Advisory Council on Aging during public comment on matters within  
the jurisdiction of the Council that are not on the agenda, or who wish to comment with respect to an  
item on the agenda, may comment in person, via Zoom, or via call-in. Those participating in person  
should speak when called upon by the chair. Those participating via Zoom should indicate they wish to  
speak by using the “raise your hand” feature in the Zoom app. Those calling in should indicate they  
wish to speak by pushing * 9 on their phone. All public comments will be limited to 2 minutes per  
speaker.  
The Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to advise  
the Area Agency on Aging on all matters related to the development and administration of the annual  
Area Agency Plan and operations conducted thereunder, in accordance with mandates from the Older  
Americans Act. Any comments or recommendations made by the Council or its individual members do  
not represent the official position of the County or any of its officers.
