Questions:
Retreats - Staff hope to increase them, usually once in the year in different countries.
Assessment - use validated research tools, dementia behaviors, caregiver's health (better or
worse), implement Sarah Burton scale, legal planning, to determine need.
Contracts with Beacon, Accent Care, and a few other for respite.
What happens with family disputes during assessment? How often does this happen?
Answer: Occasionally offer medication if the family can't address the issue on their own. Doesn't
happen too often.
Is medical training offered? Answer: No. FCA has how-to-videos. Also help caregivers to get the
training that they need through the care recipients' medical provider.
What is done with the cases of suspected abuse/neglect? Answer: Doesn't happen too often. If
abuse is happening, as mandated reporters, FCA will report it to Adult Protective Services.
Where do classes take place? Answer: Most are virtual because this is what caregivers perfer.
